Training Overview

Helmsman can provide training courses that are off-the-shelf, tailored to your business or written specially for you. The courses can be delivered to accredited standards or certified by us.

First Aid courses are delivered under our HSE approval and by HSE qualified trainers, at a time and place to suit you. First Aid courses include the 4 day First Aid at Work and the 2 day Refresher, 1 day Immediate Aid (Appointed Person) and 2 day Paediatric First Aid. These courses are being changed from 1st October 2009 and we will post details of the new arrangements when they are finalised in April.

We are also an Accredited Centre for delivering CIEH courses such as Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH. These courses are slightly more expensive due to the cost of the examination that takes place at the end. The exam results are verified by CIEH and the Certificate of Accreditation is then issued. These qualifications are recognised by Government and Ofqual (formerly by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority).

We also provide fire safety courses recognised by the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.
