How we work

Helmsman Safety Services prides itself on offering value for money services that build a relationship between us and our Clients.

We work in two ways.  Firstly we have our own employed trainers, or regularly used Associates whom we have quality controlled over the years, they deliver training courses that are only within their expertise - and we know that they are some of the best in the country.

Where there is a subject that our trainers do not feel qualified to deliver, we source expert suppliers who are able to provide high quality training, they are quality controlled by us before use and evaluated afterwards.

Accredited or Not?

We provide health and safety training courses that are off-the-shelf or tailored specially for you, usually at no cost to you. The courses can be delivered to accredited standards or certificated by us.

First Aid courses are delivered under our HSE Approval at a time and place to suit you. First Aid at Work courses include the 3 day First Aid at Work, the 2 day Refresher, 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work and 2 day Paediatric First Aid.

We are an Accredited Centre for delivering CIEH courses including Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH. These courses are slightly more expensive due to the cost of the examination that takes place at the end. The exam results are verified by CIEH and the Certificate of Accreditation is then issued. These qualifications are recognised by Government and Ofqual (formerly by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority).

We also provide fire safety courses recognised by the Institute of Fire Safety Managers and, depending upon the subject, can organise courses accredited to NCFE .
